Ontario School Bans Lululemon Pants

Since Lululemon introduced their famous Lululemon Groove Pant, there has been an unspoken understanding that their pants make the ladies bottoms look great. Ask the gentlemen at the local gyms and they will tell you that they can tell a pair of Lululemon pants from another pair of yoga pants just by the shape of the bottom. Crazy, I know but it's true!

Well, it seems that St. Joseph's Catholic School in Ottawa believe that the tight fitting Lululemon yoga pants do not meet their dress code (frankly, I couldn't find anything in their dress code that states yoga or tight fitting clothing as not allowed) this as reported by thestar.comAccording to the article many students spoke with the media about their unhappiness with the policy and have formed a Facebook event to express their disagreement.

As a parent, I personally don't have anything against my daughter wearing a pair of Lululemon yoga pants to school. I have seen worse items of clothing worn to school by students that are completely ignored. I have also seen hair and make up worn by both boys and girls that leave me frightened and again it is ignored. My children did not attend a Catholic school so perhaps that is the reason for their strict policy.  Regardless, I believe the school is creating a big mountain out of a small molehill.  What do you think?

  1. I don't think you are supposed to be able to see any body form in Catholic school dress code.
